Access of the poor to financial services is widely recognized as a powerful tool of poverty alleviation. An Islamic financial service (IFS) is expected to enhance access to financial services by making these services relevant for the users. The purpose of the conference is to analyze the challenges facing the development of micro enterprises due to non-availability of IFS and studying the ways and means to develop the IFS and the related infrastructures with a view to enhancing the access of micro enterprises to financial services.

Sudan Academy for Banking and Financial Sciences –SABFS- (Khartoum) , Sudan  and the Islamic Research and Training Institute [IRTI] - a member of the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) Group, Jeddah, in collaboration with other partner institutions are pleased to announce the above conference. The First Conference in this series of conferences was organized on April 2007 by IRTI/IsDB and the Center for Islamic Banking, Finance and Management University of Brunei Darussalam.
